Passed the amateur radio exam!
I’m now officially a category 3 amateur radio operator with the callsign CR7AKG.
What does this mean?
Category 3 is the entry level for amateur radio in Portugal. With this license I can:
- Operate on VHF (2 meters) and UHF (70 centimeters)
- Use FM and digital modes
- Transmit with limited power
- Important: Need supervision from a higher category amateur radio operator
Next steps
The goal is to gain experience and prepare for the category 2 exam, which will allow me to operate independently and access more bands, including HF.
This is just the beginning of a great journey in the world of amateur radio!
