With help from Avelino at Naucom, I built a true longwire antenna for HF.

Homemade balun

The balun was built by me using a T130-2 toroid. Later, colleague Carlos Ladeiras (CT1QP) improved it by replacing the toroid with a T200-6, significantly increasing performance.

Insulator

The insulator was built with weather-resistant materials to ensure durability.

Installed antenna

The final antenna has excellent performance on HF, allowing clear reception on multiple bands.

Installed HF antenna

A well-built longwire antenna is one of the best options for those starting in HF. It’s simple, efficient and covers multiple bands without needing complex adjustments.

Special thanks to Avelino for help with construction and CT1QP for the balun improvement!
